Does UUPAY eSIM Include Call or SMS Functionality?

To help our users clearly understand the functional boundaries of UUPAY eSIM and prevent any misunderstandings during daily use, this guide provides the official specifications regarding voice calls and SMS support for our current eSIM products:

Voice Call Functionality

All UUPAY eSIM products strictly do not support any voice call features.

Regardless of whether you purchase a Short-Term Plan or a Permanent Plan, your device will not be able to make or receive traditional phone calls once activated. If you require voice communication while abroad, we highly recommend using internet-based instant messaging applications (such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram, etc.) for voice or video calls over mobile data.

Short Message Service (SMS) Functionality

SMS support depends entirely on the specific category of the eSIM plan you select:

  • Short-Term Plans:

Because Short-Term Plans are positioned exclusively as temporary data services, the platform does not assign a phone number to them. Consequently, these plans do not feature any SMS capabilities (they can neither receive nor send text messages).

  • Permanent Plans:

To meet user needs for registering on international platforms and maintaining accounts, Permanent Plans come with a dedicated overseas phone number. This number strictly supports receiving incoming SMS only (such as logging in, receiving registration verification codes, or getting system notifications from various apps, banks, and websites). For security and compliance standards, this number cannot send outgoing text messages.

Thank you for your continuous support and trust in UUPAY! If you have any questions regarding our communication features, please feel free to contact our official online customer service for assistance.
